Alexandria, Virginia Residence Entrance Walkway & Lighting

Winter 2010

Demolished existing crumbling brick entrance walkway with insufficient base. Veneered existing concrete stoop with selected plum mix paver brick & plum color Mexican beach pebble inlay & installed new walkway on concrete to match.  Path lighting installed to highlight existing plantings and to illuminate walk.  Several designs were drawn up, but the homeowner wanted recreate the footprint of the old walkway.

 
 

Arlington, Virginia Townhouse Community Entrance Sign

Summer 2011

Demolished existing outdated entrance sign and Bradford Pear tree.  Designed with Homeowner’s Association graphics for the new entrance sign.  Installed new entrance sign on brick base.  Adjusted existing spotlight and planted a Crape Myrtle all within a very tight budget constraint.

 
 

Arlington, Virginia Residence Entrance Walkway & Curb Appeal

Fall 2011

Demolished crumbling entrance stoop and propped up the porch roof.  Installed new entrance stoop with matching brick & 2″ thick flagstone treads.  Widened the entrance walkway with matching flagstone on concrete.  Veneered the lower concrete steps and widened them to 4′ with matching brick and 2″ thick flagstone treads.  Accent natural fieldstone drystack garden walls and step stone path to backyard.  Installed new plantings for curb appeal and re-seeded the lawn.  Full master plan landscape design and itemized phasing for the property was also developed at the time.

 
 

Arlington, Virginia Backyard Patio & Landscape Simplification

Summer 2010

Demolish existing overgrown landscape in the backyard and replace with sod lawn.  Install Techobloc paver patio with retaining wall and step system.  Full master plan landscape design and itemized phasing for the property was also developed at the time.

 
 

Alexandria, Virginia Residence Townhouse Landscape & Hardscape

Spring 2006, 2008 & 2010

Multi-phase hardscape and landscape plan for curb appeal including wet-stack fieldstone “beehive” at the end of the serpentine garden wall.  Low-maintenance shrubs and perennial garden installed for a xeriscape design using pea gravel instead of hardwood mulch.  Future phase includes replacing poorly installed backyard patio with lighting.
